Generalized forms and vector fields
The generalized vector is defined on an n dimensional manifold. Interior product, Lie derivative acting on generalized p-forms, −1 ≤ p ≤ n are introduced. Generalized commutator of two generalized vectors are defined. Adding a correction term to Cartan’s formula the generalized Lie derivative’s action on a generalized vector field is defined. We explore various identities of the generalized Lie...
متن کاملconstruction of vector fields with positive lyapunov exponents
in this thesis our aim is to construct vector field in r3 for which the corresponding one-dimensional maps have certain discontinuities. two kinds of vector fields are considered, the first the lorenz vector field, and the second originally introced here. the latter have chaotic behavior and motivate a class of one-parameter families of maps which have positive lyapunov exponents for an open in...
15 صفحه اولInvariant Hypersurfaces for Positive Characteristic Vector Fields
We show that a generic vector field on an affine space of positive characteristic admits an invariant algebraic hypersurface. This is in sharp contrast with the characteristic zero case where Jouanolou’s Theorem says that a generic vector field on the complex plane does not admit any invariant algebraic curve.
متن کاملClassification of Quadratic Forms over Skew Fields of Characteristic 2
Quadratic forms over division algebras over local or global fields of characteristic 2 are classified by an invariant derived from the Clifford algebra construction. Quadratic forms over skew fields were defined by Tits in [14] to investigate twisted forms of orthogonal groups in characteristic 2, and by C.T.C. Wall [16] in a topological context. The purpose of this paper is to obtain a classif...
متن کاملCharacteristic Varieties and Logarithmic Differential 1-forms
We introduce in this paper a hypercohomology version of the resonance varieties and obtain some relations to the characteristic varieties of rank one local systems on a smooth quasi-projective complex variety M , see Theorem (3.1) and Corollaries (3.2) and (4.2). A logarithmic resonance variety is also considered in Proposition (4.5). As an application, we determine the first characteristic var...
